Without Trust, We Can’t Thrive
In April 2023, I testified before Canada’s Heritage Committee on the Safe Sport crisis, but my message went beyond sport. I spoke about how fear, control, and mistrust quietly shape every system we live in, and why rebuilding trust is essential for any community or organization to thrive.
The Choice Before Us:
Domination or Transformation?
In sport, work, and life, fear and control can shrink us while courage and empathy can transform us. The question isn’t whether domination exists. It does. The choice is: will we let it rule, or will we lead with heart?
A River That Would Not Be Stopped
At EURO 2025, I joined a river of joy flowing toward the stadium, a living current of history, resilience, and celebration. Women’s football hasn’t just 'come far'… it’s been unstoppable for over a century.

Teaching Technique
The video clip series is of one of my nieces kicking the ball. She has been playing organized soccer for the last few years, and I have never worked with her before this day. In my few minutes of coaching, I asked her what she wanted to improve.
The Coaching Compass
Looking back on my sports experiences with fresh eyes has been deeply tied to my healing journey. As I reflected over the years, I realized how many environments I once played in were unhealthy and limiting. Quietly listening to my own inner guidance helped me see the deeper issues in sport—and the antidotes.
This reflection began with a few essential questions: What is the purpose of sport? What is safety? How do coaches lead from a healthier inner place? And where do they turn for their own growth?
As I explored these questions, a new idea slowly took shape: The Coaching Compass—a heart-centred, purpose-driven approach to mentoring coaches. It blends inner development with coaching skills, offering a clearer, more meaningful way to lead and support athletes.
The Pain of a Broken Arm
Pain and sadness are natural and temporary parts of being human. Suffering, however, grows when we reject pain and react from fear or frustration. That reaction can turn a moment of pain into something deeper: a sense of lost autonomy, a belief that we must appear strong, or a feeling of “why me?”

A Game of Two Halves
September 20th, 2007, was the last time I laced up my boots for the Women’s National Team. I didn’t officially retire until months later, but I knew that final whistle marked the end of an era. More than a decade later, I realize it wasn’t the end at all. The challenges I thought I was leaving behind only grew louder as I moved from player to advocate, coach, and parent. This isn’t just a story about soccer. It’s about accountability, courage, and the responsibility we all share to protect and uplift those who come after us.
